Something For Everyone

Digital Creations

My digital art starts off with pictures I have taken of the world around me or photos of the physical art I make. I add layer upon layer to blend the various textures and colors. Often I end up with hundreds of images that share characteristics but are each unique. The depth and vibrance of the colors bring me great joy!

Pen & Ink

I have played with pen and ink many times over the years, but really started using it during a time of great stress and overwhelming emotion. It allowed me to explore without the pressure of so many decisions – it was either black or white, no in between. I experimented with a technique called Neurographic Art. It taught me that beauty could come from chaos and everything in this world is linked together in some way. It provided me with an almost meditative process to work through difficult emotions, loss and circumstances that were out of my control.

Acrylics

Acrylics were one of the first mediums I experimented with and one of my favorites. There are so many colors and ways you can apply them that the possibilities are endless! I like to bring texture to my acrylic pieces as well, using various texture mediums, paper, tape and other found objects to add depth. A lot of my acrylic pieces are finger-painted – it gives me a measure of control and allows me freedom to explore.

Jewelry

I like to see what I can make with my digital art – how it can be used to brighten everyday life. I also like to make things with my own hands – it is much more personal and it brings a sense of satisfaction you don’t get any other way. I’ve made a series of custom paper beads which I use to make one-of-a-kind earrings. I also make unique pendant necklaces. Both are available for sale in my studio.

Mobiles and Wind Spinners

Making mobiles is one of my passions! Getting the balance and movement just right is exhilarating. Add in the variety and opportunity to integrate my art and I can spend hours immersed in creation. I am looking forward to expanding my skills and workspace to continue this exploration. I would love to one day make outdoor kinetic sculptures!
